Eris, a Dominion spy.

Quadrant: Gamma Quadrant

Playability: No

The Vorta began as a natural species. Those who now directly serve the Founders, however, are cloned.

The Vorta cloning process is a very delicate one. Every once in awhile a clone is found to be defective. Normally, Vorta clones are not made while another one is still active, unless a clone is found to be defective.

They have poor eyesight but excellent hearing. The Vorta sense of taste is limited, although they like different textures.

All Vorta have a termination implant in their brain stem. They say that Voluntary Termination is quick and painless, but it’s not true.

The Vorta serve the Founders as the administrators of the Dominion, field supervisors of the Jem'Hadar armies, and envoys for client races such as the Karemma.

The Vorta used to be quite different from what they are today. They were forest dwellers—small, timid, ape-like creatures living in hollowed-out trees, eating nuts and berries and living in fear of the many predators that would hunt them for food. One day a wounded changeling came stumbling through the forest fleeing from a mob of angry solids. A family of Vorta hid the changeling from his pursuers and in exchange for saving his life the changeling promised the Vorta that one day they would be transformed into powerful beings and that they would become an important part of a great new empire that would stretch across the galaxy.

A Dominion warship crew's Vorta and Jem'Hadar First are typically the only members of the bridge personnel to be allowed access to data and monitor screens, via small holographic eyepieces worn as a headset.

Food & Drink

Q’lava is a watery fruit enjoyed by the Vorta. Kava nuts and rippleberries are among the few foods that the Vorta enjoy.
